While true mercury poisoning is rare, swordfish and mackerel do have <a href="http://www.fda.gov/food/foodsafety/product-specificinformation/seafood/foodbornepathogenscontaminants/methylmercury/ucm115662.htm" target="_blank">high levels of mercury</a>, as do certain varieties of tuna. Canned light tuna, salmon and shrimp are all low in mercury, according to the FDA.
